Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
82.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.

A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
Long limbed projectable 6-foot-2 frame. On the mound Kinsler works with some effort and intent. Full arm circle and works from a low three-quarter arm slot. Kinsler tends to fall off to the third base side and when he does the hands gets on the outside of the ball and pulls it to the glove side. When he stays in line and through it the fastball shows some late arm side run. The fastball stayed at 82-85 and touched 86 once. The velo stayed mostly 84-85 when he stayed through the pitch and when he fell off of it worked primarily in the 82-83 range. Same idea with the slider in terms of consistency around the zone and shape, the slider worked best when he stayed in line and allowed it to happen out front. The slider, when there, had late 12/6 shape at 70-73 mph and threw a couple with sweeping 2/8 shape when he worked around it. Threw one pitch that appeared to be a changeup at 75 mph. He was scattered at times around the zone, but I think there are some simple adjustments that will allow him to be more efficient, which he has been in other looks that we have had.

Kinsler is 6-2 with an athletic 191 pound frame that has some strength present and plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the left side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, short stride on line, short smooth load down. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with some strength at contact and extension through the ball, showed a pull approach with extra base power that way and chance to grow into more, exit velocity was 91. In the infield, gets body behind ball and fields with average hands, works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action, position velocity was 82. On the mound, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, very short free quick arm action and higher effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands open with a fall off finish and hard recoil. Fastball was 86-87, with some downward angle and hard armside run. Curveball was 65-70 with some armspeed and big gradual 1/7 break to it. Shows a slider in the same velocity range with good armspeed and sharp 2/8 break. Change-up was 69-73 with some armspeed and a bit of late fade.
