Laird has a lankier athletic frame. On the mound throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a free arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive creates a flatter plane, fastball was 79-82 touching 83 with some late run. Movement played up to armside. Good armspeed on change-up that had late run and was 74. Curveball was 68-71 with good armspeed and 11/5 break, pitch was very sharp when buried, good out pitch.
Laird is an athletic two-way player. Will run a fastball around 80 with feel for two offspeed pitches. Has some batspeed and clean actions in the infield.
