Jefferson is a Notre Dame commit. He has game changing speed on the bases and in the outfield. At the plate, hits from the left side with a short swing and a level line drive swing. Has strength at the plate and surprising power, but his approach is to hit line drives or balls on the ground and let his speed work for him. Stole four bases in the game, a walk or single in a high school game may as well be scored as a triple. Doesn't get great jumps or even take big leads, just outruns the ball. Only had about a 6-7 foot lead on one of his steals and it wasn't close. Speed allows him to play shallow in center which makes it really hard to hit against St. John's.

David (DM) Jefferson OF St. John’s College 2021
Strong athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 190-pounds. Posted a 6.60 60 time. Athletic slightly open stance from the right side, toe tap to stride landing on line, and hands are back in a strong hitting position at stride. Barrel gets on plane early, speed and strength getting through the zone, and gets solid extension on contact. Pull side tendency, but has shown ability to hit with power to all fields. In the outfield Jefferson is under control on approach, steps through with a slight crow hop, and has a fluid longer arm action. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot at 81 mph. Strong physical player that should continue to develop an already elite skill set.

Athletic strong frame with plenty of quick twitch. Premium speed type player playing outfield. Hits from an athletic set up with high hands above the shoulder. Short simple load with small leg lift. Short swing path with fast bat speed. Player shows a lot of offensive potential at the plate and will be one to follow
