Solid 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame for the Cornell commit. Short arm swing and hides it well on the back hip. Whippy low three-quarter arm slot. Hips are elevated while moving down the mound and lands on line at stride. The fastball was 83-85 mph with arm side run. Flattened out a bit when he got it up in the zone. The breaking ball sat 71-74 mph and varied shapes. It backed up on him a couple times, but when he got it out front it showed some nice late bite with some horizontal break to it as well. The breaking ball appeared to be the out pitch and he could throw it for strikes a pretty good percentage of the time.

Mayfield is 6-2 with a very lanky frame that has a ton of projection left to it. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a short loose arm that is lightning quick, normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and on line, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 73-75, touching 77, with heavy run to it and a bit of sink. Curveball was 59-63 with some armspeed and sharp 11/5 break, potential swing and miss pitch down the road. Change-up was 69-73 with good armspeed and heavy fade to it. At the plate, he hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, short stride on line, smooth load back, hips rotate and he maintains balance. Level line drive swing, some quickness in his bat and gets some extension through the ball, showed good approach working gap to gap, exit velocity was 83. At short, gets body behind the ball, fields with above average hands, works through to a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, infield velocity was 73. Ran a 7.34 60 yard dash.
