Alvis is 6-1 with an athletic 185 pound frame that has strength in the lower half and some projection left to it. He hits from the left side from a balanced athletic stance, leg kick stride on line, smooth load back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick and short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with strength at contact and extension through the ball, showed a good approach using the whole field, power present to all fields with some real juice to his pull side, exit velocity was 97. In the infield, gets body behind the ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball with a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 79. Ran a 7.25 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, longer loose quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Some crossfire and drop and drive to his delivery, shoulders are level and closed, lands slightly closed with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 81-83, with some late armside run that also has a bit of depth to it. Curveball was 70-71 with good armspeed and late gradual 1/7 break to it.

6-foot-1, 186-pound frame with a strong lower half. Square athletic stance, small lift and replaces, and hands load and separate in rhythm. Alvis does a nice job involving the lower half early and finishes it through contact. In the seventh inning he got a 87 mph fastball up in the zone and got on plane barreling it up to left field for a RBI double. Have always liked the offense that Alvis can provide from the left side. Another strong uncommitted bat in the 2022 class.
