Ellison is 6-2 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open athletic stance, leg kick stride on line, loads back to a wrap, hips rotate completely with some violence, has some balance during his swing. Short to ball, keeps hands inside, gets extension through the ball, uphill path that is more level in middle of the field, swing has loft built in and ball carries to pull side, showed good approach working primarily gap to gap, where he has some juice, exit velocity was 91. In the infield, keeps footwork simple, rounds ball and fields with a good wide base and above average hands. Plays through ball to a clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action, position velocity was 77.
