Luke is a big physical man child with a rare R/L hitting and throwing profile. Only a handful are seen every few years. Increased his times in the 60 by .20 of second from one event to the next. Offensively he is strong with size and leverage over most of his peers. The metrics are good as he showed a similar 93-94 exit velo from both events. The stance is a conventional squared up tall address to the pitcher and turns his hands and barrel into a solid 45 degree angle and drives his hands hard into the baseball with good hand and bat speed. Because of his long arms, he can get a little long in his path and stroke, yet he squares up balls hard and the ball jumps off his bat with strength and bat/hand speed. Defensively he shows soft hands and fields out front and from the ground up. The throwing stroke is a bit long, taking time away from glove to target. But he is a confident defender and gives INF’ers a good large target to throw to at 1B. Would like to see again in 3-4 months, to see where he has made strides. Intrigued by him.
