The recently committed Colorado Mesa recruit attended the Utah State Games in the games portion of the event and took his turn on the mound by turning in the FB event high of 88.2 mph and sitting 86-87, after touching 90 for Trosky National in the summer. The Uber twitchy two way prospect is a PBR staple as he has been a two-time West Coast Games invite and also was a ‘22 Future Games alum. Look for big things out of Walker next spring as he held down the 2B spot for the 6A defending state champs, in deference to a TCU recruit. Walker will now take over at SS and will most likely be the ace on the mound as well.

West Coast Games
Another PBR Future Game alum, and now a two-time West Coast Games alum, Walker had a very good WCG’s, as he blasted a high and deep shot to straightaway LF for Team Utah’s only HR of the weekend vs Idaho in game one. Walker also performed well on workout day, as he ran a top 5 60 time at 6.85 with his best of 6.76 at the Future Games a year ago. Walker also posted a tied with 4 others at a #2 INF velo of 86 as well. Also Walker took a turn in the rotation, as he went in game three for 2 inns, and was 84-87, sitting 85-86. The SL 73-76 was the best pitch for quality K’s, as he was in the zone with every pitch at 100% efficiency. The FB was scattered for the most part, yet was around the zone. When he needed to make a pitch, the go to pitch was the SL and he either landed it, or got rolled over soft contact. Walker would have been higher with the FB, but cut his palm hand, while sliding headfirst into 1B the day before and insisted he was okay to throw, but it has to effect his velo, as he was up to 90 a couple of weeks ago in CA at a tourney with Trosky National. A two way very good athlete with quality movement patterns, Walker has yet to separate what he could and may do from a positional standpoint at the next level, but he has options and it’s a good thing to have.

2022 PBR Future Games
2022 PBR West Coast Games
One of the best athletes and “movers” at the event or any PBR event for the 2022 calendar year. A Future Games alum, that will get his first shot at the varsity level next spring as a junior, but keep in mind that he plays at a nationally ranked program that was filled with an entire D1 infield and was blocked. This kid would start at 90% of all HS’s in the state already, if he was somewhere else. The bloodlines are in place, as his father Jason was an All-WAC defensive back at BYU in the mid to late 90’s, and was a two sport star in HS, being drafted in the 24th Rd by the Montreal Expos out of HS as a CF. His brother Jack is an OF’er at Utah Tech. Jett is flashy, acrobatic and smooth at SS and it’s not manufactured, it’s natural and instinctive by nature. His feet and hands are “cat” quick, along with having extremely fast feet and feel for the ball. Can throw on the run with ease and flare, along with gaining ground quickly in coming in to charge balls. The arm is gonna be plus in time as he is 85-86 across the diamond and it’s easy. Look for a low 90’s over the next 2 years! One thing that stands out among the Swift Vertical jump metrics, was there was only 10 players of the 69, that had a vertical of 30+ inches and Walker was #2 at 34.99, essentially 35! The bat has hand and bat speed of metrics of 24.3 and 70.6, while producing a lower EV of 87.9, which suggests his bat speed is in place, now the strength is yet to come, but will as he is 5-11 165 and his Dad played at 6-1 195, so projected gains are expected, which when you put the hit tool that gets hits and legs out 2B’s, those hits will clear the gaps and his 6.76 speed at LakePoint will play up in the batter's box. Excited for his future!
8/04/22
A versatile defender that can play all 3 INF spots and was used at both MIF positions at the Future Games, Walker played clean defense and showed real well in the workout on day one. Jett drove hard shots on a line from RCF to LCF, staying in the middle of the field, as he took a solid round of BP. The setup features a wide base in the box, with his hands held high over his back shoulder. He loads the bat well, and when on approach, he tends to drive his back shoulder underneath, which creates an uphill path, this is something he didn’t do in my earlier summer looks, when he was swinging the bat really well. When in sync, he drives his back shoulder towards the path of the ball and though there is some uphill, he created a flatter plane and wore the gaps out with an MVP award in a mid June tournament in CA. The glove is advanced for a 16 year old, as he has natural flash, educated feet and soft, subtle hands with an energetic rhythm to his twitchy athletic movement patterns. The arm is strong for his age as he posted an 86 mph arm across the INF at the Future Games and 83 at the Top Prospect Games. Also a runner as he posted a 6.84/60 at the TP Games and a 6.76 at the Future Games. Just needs to add overall body strength and size to maximize his hitting abilities, and with that added size and additional leg strength, look for some 90’s across the diamond and 6.6/60’s in his next two years of HS baseball.

3/06/22
A silky smooth defender that has sure feet and glove actions. Is adept with the glove and can make 2B feeds with his glove hand only with a forehand as well as a backhand glove flip. An online accurate arm that gets the ball out and can throw from multiple arm angles. Once his growth and development kick in, look for the arm to jump in velo and straighten out with clothesline throws. The bat is still developing with a slightly laid open load ala Derek Jeter and drives his hands inside and through the baseball with a straightaway to oppo field approach. Has bloodlines as his older brother (Jack) is an OF at D1 Dixie State and his father (Jason) was an All-WAC DB on the gridiron at BYU. His father’s athleticism also got him drafted as an OF in HS with the Montreal Expos back in the day.
6/19/21
A lean, thin athletic frame with a young immature build that looks to have a late bloomer type increase in Ht/Wt. has athletic bloodlines, with his father being an All-Conference DB in football at BYU, and as a sport athlete, was drafted out of HS by the Montreal Expos. Also has a brother who is an OF’er at Dixie State U. Jett has smooth movement patterns with glove actions and shows proper footwork with accurate throws across the diamond with a clean and mechanically sound arm stroke. With the bat, he shows a clean path with a sound enough hitting stroke, to have the base to build on as a hitter. Ran a 6.91/60 and look for that to improve in time as he continues to add size, weight and leg strength. Very interesting young player!
12/22/20
A loose wiry young 14 yr old with a bright baseball future. Displays athleticism and has bloodlines, with his father Jason a former BYU defensive back and was drafted by the Montreal Expos in HS. Brother Jack is a freshman baseball player (OF) at Dixie State U. A SS out of a powerhouse HS program that could contribute to the varsity as a FR, Jett shows educated feet defensively with glove actions and fields out front and from the ground up. Displays comfort to the backhand and fields with both hands out front, while coming in on the slow roller. Features a longer arm action and repeats his arm stroke w/accurate throws across the diamond. A 7.23/60 and looks to be a sub 7.0 in time as he gains leg strength and features a smooth running gate. Repeats a short, compact hitting stroke with a slight uphill path and releases the hands well at contact. Shows an all fields approach and barreled balls on a line in BP. Will be a solid ‘24 follow for colleges and see big things in his future.
