Poulson still remains the #1 prospect in the class, based on the defensive profile behind the plate and his projectable frame and strong defensive tools. This is the first aspect of his game that catches your eye! Getting low to the ground from the one knee down setup, Poulson works from the ground up with the glove, in working under the baseball to steal low K’s and frames well for his experience level. Sticks pitches and gives a good look to present well in getting calls. The feet are quick and comes out of the shoot ready to throw with 1.94-1.97 pop times. The throws are accurate and will thwart a running game at this level. Blocks and recovers well and has a good strong base to be a solid avg to plus receiver. At the plate, now featuring a lay the bat on the shoulder wide setup, and leaves the bat in this position as he turns his left hip inward to coil into the launch position. Fires the hands from his shoulder and stays on plane and through the ball with LD’s to the big part of the field without selling out for pull power. An athletic running gate with a middle INF background at a younger age is serving his athleticism as a catcher well and is currently the starting catcher as a sophomore for state and regional powerhouse American Fork. Will attend the Future Games this summer!

Young 14 yr old C/UTL with advanced tools and skills for his age. A 2021 Jr Future Games alum with a father who played college baseball. Plays for top rated ‘26 Trosky National and was voted top performer at the PBR Rising Stars ID. Features a long lean athletic build that has plenty of room for growth, development and maturity. An upright, open stance with flex to the knees and shows hand and body rhythm in the box. Coils his front knee inward as he makes his way back to square and is soft out front at foot strike. The swing is quick for his age w/a compact, knob to ball fluid stroke w/a full two hand finish around his back shoulder. The glove behind the plate is advanced and he receives softly and lets the ball travel, while he is quick to block and keeps balls in front and is tough to advance on, as he is quick out front and side to side in recovering. Has solid footwork and a quick clean exchange and his throws have something on them and carry thru the bag with on the money throws. At SS, Cache shows educated feet w/athletic actions, while playing from the ground up and out front. Solid player who is putting himself out front and on the radar within his grad class.
