There was lots of buzz towards the end of the 2021 season when the long and lanky RHP was up to 97 mph in a playoff game against Lake Travis in front of a hostile crowd. His first outing of the 2022 spring picked up right where he left off. The Texas commit was 96-99 mph in the first inning and 94-97 mph in the second, as well as showing a much improved slider at 86-88 mph. The slider might have been the biggest improvement, showing pure slider shape with no hump whatsoever in the pitch. Sykora showed the confidence in it to throw it to both RHH and LHH for strikes as well as for a chase pitch. Sykora flat out has an electric arm and its only going to get better and better.
