6/17/19

Wrehe is 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, ran upright 60-yard dash in 7.20 seconds. Left handed swing can get big lift, and right handed swing shows good barrel speed. Up to 88 mph off of tee for exit velocity. Smooth actions and transition from behind the plate, moves out cleanly and stays on line through the throw with carry at 80 mph. Pop times ranged 1.91-2.05. On the mound, arm has length in the back, gets extended well over the front side, throws from ¾ slot and can get on top with tilt. Fastball was 84-88 mph, showed tight break on both 11/5 shape curveball (76 mph) and slider (82 mph), and good fade on changeup at 81-82 mph.

7.23.18
Wrehe has a strong 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with broad shoulders. A switch-hitter, Wrehe shows good snap in the barrel from the left side, working down into a crouched position as he loads into his legs and triggers his hands back, cocking the barrel forward with a front arm bar. Good energy in his lower half as his hips uncoil and he delivers the barrel with natural lift and an exit velocity of 82 mph. From the right side, he starts from a taller, open setup, then lifts his hands as he turns inward to load, lifting his front foot before landing slightly closed. Quick-strong hands, flat path, short finish, with an exit velocity of 85 mph. On the infield, Wrehe fields the ball with soft hands and staggered footwork before he throws across the infield with a top velocity of 75 mph. On the mound, the right-hander works from a high slot from a long arm stroke with a slight reach down out of the glove. Good hip turn with a short stride down the mound, and a drop-and-drive delivery. His fastball ranged from 82-87 with occasional tilt. Shows the ability to spin both a curveball at 70-72, and a slider at 75 mph. His curveball has a slight hump out of his hand before working with 11/5 shape, and his slider has shorter, cutter-like, lateral break at 75 mph. Also flashes a changeup with arm side fade at 79 mph.

6.11.18
6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with size and strength throughout his body.  Wrehe is a strong, projectable switch hitter that flashed solid pull side power from the left side (Left-88 mph exit velo off the tee). Starts in an athletic stance strong in his legs, and starts his hands over his back foot.  He has a smooth load back, and gets a lot of separation in his hands to create space for the barrel to work, uses a toe tap type stride for timing. He has natural lift, and showed the ability to drive balls with backspin over the right fielder’s head.  From the right side he recorded a 77 mph exit velo and has a much higher leg kick. Defensively, Wrehe had pop times that ranged from 2.04-2.15 with a short arm action (74 mph). Ran a 7.31 laser-timed 60.

6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with size and strength throughout his body. The right-hander works from a high slot with a long arm swing and reach out of the glove. Drop-and-drive delivery with regular effort. His fastball was 81-84 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape with good depth at 69-71 mph, also throws a slider at 76 mph with lateral spin. Throws his changeup with fastball arm speed, producing heavy arm side fade at 71-73 mph.
