6.12.18
6-foot, 175-pound frame with broad shoulders and upper body strength.  Crotts pounded a 90 mph exit velo. He is strong in his legs in his stance, has a big and smooth load with his hands to create separation with a long stride.  He creates natural lift, and his strong hands and wrists help him drive balls. In batting practice, he pounded balls off of the wall in center field. Crotts threw 78 mph from the first base position.  He ran a 7.25 laser-timed 60. Off the mound he throws from a ¾ arm slot, with a smooth delivery and stays upright on his finish. He pounded strikes with a fast tempo. His fastball ranged from 78-81. He had tight spin on his curveball (10/4 shape) at 67-68.  His changeup was 66-67 with deceptive hand speed.

06.13.17
5-foot-10, 150-pound frame. The right-handed hitter starts from a balanced, crouched stance, loads his hands down and back, short stride. Front arm bar gets barrel on plane early with a high finish through contact. Line drive approach with some pull side fly balls. Exit velocity of 81 mph off the tee. On the infield, Crotts has deliberate footwork, still developing exchange into a longer throwing motion from a ¾ slot with some accuracy at 72 mph across the infield.
