11.04.18
Zepeda is a prospect for college coaches to follow closely during the high school season. The right-hander topped out at 87 mph, pitching mostly 84-86 mph. Working from a high-¾ slot with a short arm swing, he has an athletic lower half and a deceptive delivery. Scattered command at this event, but hitters dont pick the breaking ball up very well out of his hand, and the pitch has good depth at 71-72 mph. Because he started game one, he did not do the first base workout but we already know he has soft hands on picks and moves well around the bag at first base. The right-handed hitter posted an exit velocity of 86 mph and took some quality aggressive hacks on foul balls during the game.

9.9.18
6-foot, 165-pounds. The right-hander has a clean arm swing from a ¾-ish slot, with a short circle and elbow dominant arm action. Fastball shows life at 82-84, slider has good 10/4 shape at 72-73, and he has feel for a changeup with arm side fade at 77-78. We have seen Zepeda up to 86 this summer, and the pitchability is already there.

7.17.18
Projectable 6-foot, 160-pound frame. The right-handed hitter starts in an athletic stance with his hands high. A subtle leg lift accompanies a down-and-back load, as he generates a swing with a knob-first approach. Short through the zone with some bat speed (85 mph exit velocity), he gets from Point A to Point B efficiently. At first base, Zepeda flashed soft hands with decent carry throwing to third base (81 mph) from a short, ¾ arm stroke. Showed a quick release and demonstrated confidence around the bag. On the mound, the right-handed pitcher translates his unique arm stroke along with a compact, repeatable, drop-and-drive delivery. His fastball hovered around 83-86 mph, with command at the bottom and around the perimeter of the strike zone. His 11/5 curveball was clocked at 72 mph, a pitch with impressive depth.

06.12.18
6-foot, 160-pound frame.  Zepeda pounded an 86 mph exit velo off the tee, and that translated into his batting practice round where he drove balls to the gaps with backspin.  He has a compact swing with a smooth load and fluid rhythm throughout the swing, and he has quick twitch movements in his lower half that deliver the barrel. On the infield he showed arm strength from the first base position, throwing 79 mph across the diamond with accuracy and carry. He flashed quick footwork around the bag.  Zepeda ran a 7.10 laser-timed 60. Off the mound, he filled the strike zone with a 3-pitch mix. His fastball was 80-82, he showed the ability to throw a sharp breaking ball with tight spin and a 11/5 shape at 67 mph, and had good feel for a changeup at 74 mph.  He has a short arm action, and delivers from a high ¾ arm slot. Zepeda has fluid rhythm, and controls his body well throughout his delivery.
