06.06.17 - Luna has a strong, sturdy frame at 5-foot-8, 180-pounds. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a long, fairly quick arm stroke. Drop-and-drive delivery with good energy down the mound, some effort, lands square with an athletic finish. His fastball sat mostly at 81 mph and he turns it over slightly as he falls off to the first base side. Luna showed the ability to really spin his breaking ball, which comes in at 71-74 mph with 11-5 shape and good depth. A two-way player and right-handed hitter, Luna has a simple swing with strength at contact. He starts from a stacked, balanced set-up, smooth load back with a short stride as he stays in his legs throughout his swing. Explosive lower half allows for quality weight transfer through contact. Short, level path to contact produced a ton of line drives with back-spin during batting practice with several balls carrying into the gaps. Defensively, Luna has soft hands with average footwork and a clean exchange. Throws from a lower slot that drifts toward a side-arm release at 74 mph across the diamond.
