10.20.18
Hefner has a long-limbed frame at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. The right-handed hitter starts from a tall, open stance, then loads with a short leg kick as he triggers his hands and strides forward. Short, inside-out path to contact as his hands work relaxed through the zone. Lower half works well with a simple weight transfer. Posted a top exit velocity of 75 mph, loose finish and contact approach. Behind the plate, Hefner throws with an easy arm stroke, clean exchange, fundamental footwork, top velocity from the crouch of 69 mph and pop times ranging from 2.18-2.26. On the infield, Hefner does a nice job of playing low with soft hands out front, easy exchange into his throwing motion with an accurate arm swing and top velocity across the diamong of 70 mph. Shows feel for throwing from different slots, clean arm action with easy effort.

07.22.17
6-foot, 160-pound frame. The right-handed hitter has a balanced setup with a simple load and relaxed trigger of his hands. Lower half works well to contact as his hips rotate to get into his front side. Clean path to the ball, slight arm bar, barrel is on plane with a high finish, and still developing bat speed (77 mph). Behind the plate, Hefner had consistent pop times ranging from 2.25-2.28. Soft hands, clean exchange, fluid footwork with a 67 mph velocity from the crouch. Hefner also plays infield and with his potential with bat and ability to play multiple positions, he will be a fun player to follow in the coming years.

06.13.17
6-foot, 160-pound frame. The right-handed hitter starts from a stacked, balanced stance with flex in his lower half and good shoulder tilt. Smooth, early load back to get started, short stride on time. Barrel stays in the zone a long time, getting on plane early and working through the zone efficiently with a high finish. Line drive approach with hard contact in the middle of the field with fluid rhythm. At shortstop, Hefner does a nice job of getting into a fundamental fielding position with his nose over the ball and his hands out in front. Mid-line exchange and glove action into fluid footwork to throw across the diamond at 67 mph. Behind the plate, Hefner posted pop times of 2.26 - 2.39 at this event. In-line, directional footwork with a still developing arm and exchange.
