Hess has an athletic, muscular, high-waisted frame at 6-foot-3, 210-pounds. The right-handed hitter uses his long limbs to generate lift and pull side power with a top exit velocity of 91 mph off the tee. Triggers his hands back early and uses a simple load back before taking a controlled stride, landing balanced with separation. Hips rotate as the barrel lags through the zone then whips on an upward plane with a high finish. Pounded balls to the gaps during BP and hit a towering bomb to left-centerfield.

Hess has a high-waisted, lean-muscular frame at 6-foot-3, 200-pounds. After running a 7.04 60-yard dash, the right-handed hitter hammered the ball during batting practice, including sending a homerun over the left field fence. Starting from an open, narrow stance with a slight tilt in his upper body, he triggers his hands back smooth and early before he strides forward, landing square. Creates a ton of leverage as he slots the barrel in the zone early, then works uphill through contact with a compact stroke, creating carry to the deepest parts of the park with an exit velocity of 93 mph. At first base, Hess plays threw the ball with a low fielding position and threw with a top velocity of 84 mph from a long arm swing. A two-way player and right-handed pitchers, Hess works from a high-¾ slot with a long arm swing and tall-and-fall delivery. His fastball ranged from 82-85 mph, while his curveball flashed good depth and got weak contact with 11/5 shape.

Athletic, long-limbed 6-foot-3, 195-pound projectable frame with tons of strength.  At the plate, Hess showed offensive tools by first pounding a 91 mph exit velo off the tee, and then making loud contact throughout batting practice.  Hess hits from the right side and works from a tall stance, he has a short stride with a smooth controlled load back into a strong back leg. Hess drove balls to left field with a tight barrel turn and was able to get to inside pitches with ease.  Hess ran a 7.04 laser-timed 60. From the outfield he made low accurate throws through the cutoff man, and he topped out at 85 mph with carry. He showed athletic footwork around the bag at first base, and was smooth picking the ball from infielders.  From first base, Hess threw 82 mph across the infield.

Hess has a projectable, high-waisted, long-limbed frame at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a long arm swing and tall-and-fall delivery. His fastball ranged from 80-83 mph, topping out once at 85 mph. His curveball has 11/5 shape at 70 mph, and he throws a split-finger fastball with depth at 75 mph. A two-way player and right-handed hitter, Hess showed great leverage at the plate, posting an exit velocity of 92 mph off the tee and the ability to drive the ball deep to the gaps during batting practice. He starts from a slightly open stance with his knees pinched together and relaxed hands. Simple load back as he triggers his hands back early, working into a short stride to land balanced. Barrel gets on plane early as his lower half rotates to contact, short path creates leverage and lift with a high-loose finish and simple strength to the pull side. During the game, Hess flew out on the barrel to deep centerfield and doubled down the left field line, driving in two runs. At first base, Hess threw 80 mph across the diamond.
