Cape Cod: While Warrecker was the crown jewel of the Orleans staff when it comes to showing feel for his arsenal, Harrison was not far behind. Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, the Oklahoma transfer stood out for his presence on the mound and ability to control the game despite fringy fastball velocity (88-90 mph). He did this by working the lower-U of the strikezone with precision and leaning heavily on a plus curve in the 74-76 mph velo band and impressive spin (2600-2700 rpm) and depth. He also blended in a quality changeup in the mid-80s which lacked impact separation but came with good arm-side dive. Harrison controlled the few runners who reached base by varying his hold times and times to the plate, as well. The profile is not yet that of an impact draft prospect, but Oklahoma may have landed a true helium talent in Harrison. Even a small uptick in velocity could quickly propel the righty up draft boards next spring, and even with his present arsenal he could prove to be a formidable Sunday/weekday starter or multi-inning weapon out of the pen, depending on the Sooners’ needs.
