A high level athlete, Hodo showed a plus run tool and looked to be an average defender in center field with below average arm strength. At the plate he has strong hands and good bat speed. He showed the ability to turn on the inside fastball and hung in well against breaking balls. However, with a current .194 batting average, those abilities have not yet translated to his performance in the Cape. On a positive note, he currently has a .359 OBP in 39 plate appearances, a mark that has been buoyed by eight walks. If the righthanded-hitting center fielder can cut down on his strikeout rate next spring (23% in 2021), he has all the tools to become a breakout prospect and top-five-round talent for the 2022 draft, building upon a sophomore season at Texas where he posted a .281/.384/.398 slash in 64 games.
