3/10/19: With Kent State and West Virginia seemingly locked in a pitchers duel in the series opener, Mountaineer outfielder Darius Hill broke the scoreless tie, lining a double down the right field line that plated a pair. He displayed above average bat speed, with quick wrists and the ability to pull his hands in to turn on balls in the inner half of the plate. He uses a contact oriented approach, with a level swing plane is geared more for doubles than over-the-fence pop. While he hasn't been much of a base stealing threat throughout his collegiate career (13 SB in 186 games) he logged a 4.08 home-to-first run time while legging out an infield single. He presently holds down right field for the Mountaineers, but he doesn't project to hit for enough power to profile in a corner as a professional. (Granger)
