Lanky frame, 5-foot-11, 160-pounds with a lot of legs and high waist. Arm works from a low-3/4 slot with some whip out front to finish, lower half moves cleanly down the mound, good front side creates stable point for transfer of energy. Fastball was only 79-81 mph, but he threw a short breaking 2/8 slider with late bite to finish at 75-76 mph.

Benson stands 5-foot-10, 160-pounds and has a clean arm swing with a low effort delivery that should allow his velocity to climb as he continues to mature physically. His fastball was 76-80 mph, but its easy to dream that there is more in the tank with natural maturation over the next few years. Good hip mobility with an athletic lower half finish. Curveball shows signs of becoming a solid pitch with 66 mph. Throws his changeup with fastball arm speed at 72 mph.

Benson has a high waisted frame and projectable 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame. The left-hander works from a ¾ slot with a long, loose arm stroke, drop-and-drive delivery with an athletic lower half and good hip turn down the mound. Arm works well from back to front with his fastball sitting 70-73 mph. His curveball has good 1/7 shape at 64 mph, while his changeup shows arm side fade at 67 mph.
