Montz has long-limbed, lean frame at 6-foot-2, 150-pounds. The right-hander has an athletic delivery with a loose arm stroke from a ¾ slot. High leg kick at the top of his delivery with coiled hips as he rides his back leg down the mound. His fastball topped out at 84, pitching at 81-82 with touch and feel as he turns his fastball over. Showed feel for a 69-72 mph slider with 10/4 shape, and that pitch should tighten up as he continues to develop. Throws his changeup with quaility arm speed and depth at 72-75 mp.
