7-10-2018: 6-foot, 185 pounds, strong athletic frame with little projection remaining. Similar body type to Todd Walker. Offensively, he was one the most impressive hitters, I saw this weekend. In the spring, he led his college team in batting average, hits, walks and home runs. Has a compact, line drive swing that gets to the ball very quickly with good leverage. Quick and strong hands create excellent bat speed. A lot of hand movement in his load which can cause timing issues. Has some pop which was shown when he crushed a homer over the batter’s eye. Can drive the ball to all fields. Good approach to the plate. Very disciplined hitter that works counts. Above average runner but could improve on the basepaths. Defensively, has quick feet and impressive range for 2B. Showed an above average arm. Overall, Arias is a good baseball player with instincts and is an athlete on the diamond. (Joseph Pera)
