A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
I thought some of the best swings in the scrimmage came from Schultz. In the 1st, he stayed on a 92 mph Fastball and drove it for a line drive single to CF. When he stays in the big part of the field, he has the potential for a lot of hard contact. He looked noticeably more comfortable at 1st, which just makes an already impressive infield that much better.

The Jr. from Coppell had a good day on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he looked really good at 1st making all the plays and picking multiple balls from his fellow infielders. At the plate, the LHH had a max exit velo of 96.3 He shows a short stroke to the ball, and he is able to hit the ball with authority to all fields. When Schultz is locked in, he has as much power to the left center gap as he does to his pull side. Schultz is poised to have a big year for the Cowboys.
