60 Time: 7.75, C Velo: 68, Pop Time: 2.09-2.22, Exit Velo: 86
6-0, 180 pound, tall, strong, well built athletic frame. Offensively, shows good presence in the box and displayed an above average exit velocity. Starts tall and slightly open and works down and through the ball well. Produces hard line drives all over the field with good carry. Keeps his barrel through the zone well and stays in his legs on his finish. Fills a middle of the order power hitter with big RBI numbers. Defensively, fills a catchers role well with his large frame and good posture. Frames the ball well and gets good carry and accuracy on his throws. Needs to be a little quicker on his feet and transfer. Can develop into a power catcher at the next level with some upside
8/11/18 - Max FB: 77, FB: 74-76, CB: 62-64, CH: 68-71 5-foot-10, 175-pound, RHP shows better arm speed than velocity indicates. Medium, athletic frame w/ present lower half strength, some physical projection. Pitches from a full wind-up into over the top release from the first base side of the rubber. High effort throw, can get stronger with his glove-side, is just along for the ride. Can get lower half more involved, as he learns to incorporate the legs, should make a quick velocity jump for a couple ticks. Straight FB showed occasional short arm-side run. Medium downer CB w/ proper shape and rotation, works best as a pitch to steal a strike with. Straight CH w/ arm-speed. Around the zone, tends to miss up in the zone.
8/11/18 - 60 Time: 8.07, Pop Time: 2.06-2.13, Position Velocity: C-76, Exit Velocity: 83 5-foot-10, 175-pound, RHH showed intriguing offensive profile. Medium, athletic frame w/ present lower half strength, some physical projection. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into short shift of weight, stride and proper load. Generates bat speed through the zone. Explodes on the baseball, shows future power potential as frame continues to firm up. Pull oriented approach w/ some loft. Projectable pull power. Defensively, shows solid release w/ projectable arm strength and carry to target.
5-foot-10, 175-pound, RHP mixed in 3 pitches. Medium, athletic profile w/ some present lower half strength, some projection. Pitches from a full wind-up w/ short rocker step into first base side of rubber. Balance point into hip drive and H ¾ release. Gets long in the back at times, inconsistent arm action. Glove hand can be stronger, allowing better direction. Straight FB shows occasional cut. Medium downer CB w/ proper rotation. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink. Around the zone.
11/18/17 - 30 Time: 4.54, Pop Time: 1.93-2.00, Position Velocity: C: 74, Exit Velocity: 83 5-foot-10, 175-pound, RHH shows line drive approach w/ some bat speed. Medium, athletic profile w/ some present lower half strength, some projection. Offensively, hits from a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Mini leg kick w/ proper hand load. Generates bat speed through the zone w/ back-spin, high finish. Projects to hit for power. Still learning to repeat swing. Defensively, shows tools to catch w/ arm strength w/ carry to target.
12/10/16 - 60 Time: 8.38, Pop Time: 2.32-2.44, Position Velocity: C-69, IF-71, Exit Velocity: 80 5-foot-8, 150-pound, RHH hits from a more narrow and even stance with his bat just above his back shoulder, uses a long stride and a pretty fluid movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half works well and certainly allows his hips to get through the zone, bat path is generally flat with a little upward lift at the end, can get through balls when he stays middle. Defensively, showed average hands and footwork behind the plate, exchange took a little while, arm action was short but slower developing through a high ¾ slot, also participated in the infield.
12/10/16 - Max FB: 71, FB: 69-71, CB: 57-62, CH: 66-69, 5-foot-8, 150-pound, RHP is a little different in using a short rocker step while keeping his hands very high and near his face and back ear throughout his motion, leg lift is pretty high and creates a very good load of his front side and lower half, gets some solid shoulder tilt at the top before heading home, leads home with a straighter front leg and lands in line to slightly open, finishes a little toward the 1B side, arm action begins longer but shortens up and comes through a high ¾ to over-the-top slot. Fastball seemed to be able to have run or cut depending on his location, breaking ball had 12/6 shape but had trouble finding the zone, changeup was straight.
