6'3, 220-pound, RHH hits from a tall, athletic, and slightly open stance and uses a long stride and a slight hand movement backwards to get initiate his load. Lower half has a lot going on as he gains a lot of ground and tends to cause him to lunge at the ball, movement of his body doesn’t allow him to get the separation he’s capable of achieving, can get more power out of his lower half and back side when he stays behind the ball, top hand is strong through the swing and helps him get through balls anywhere in the zone, line drive approach showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Defensively, showed good hands and average footwork behind the plate, quick exchange and release comes out from a lower arm slot than normal, decent carry on throws to second base, stayed fairly aligned when recording pop times, but was nearly standing up when he caught the ball.
1/18/16 - 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed hitter with physical frame, hits from an athletic stance and uses a rhythmic stride and load to get himself started, lowers hands and gets them back to constitute his load, swing path stays on plane and through the ball, gets lower half involved, drifts forward on occasion, strong kid that was able to muster an 85 mph exit velocity off the tee and show a line drive approach with some very big power potential. Above average hands and fairly quick feet put him in a good position to get rid of the ball from behind the plate, uses a lower exchange than usual, gets the ball out of his hand quickly and showcased a 76 mph position velocity and 1.95-2.01 pop times from behind the plate. Also showed average hands and feet in the infield with 79 mph velocity across the diamond. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Definitely a player to keep an eye on.
