6-foot-4, 215-pound, RHH hits from a wider and slightly open stance, uses the same abbreviated leg kick and stride with a smoother movement back with his hands to get loaded as we saw from him at the Top Prospect Games, hands do come up a little before beginning the swing, lower half gets moving and is initiated by that stride but doesn’t always get all the way through to clear his hips, bat path can begin a little steep but flattens out to get through the ball solidly, hit a lot of hard ground balls in BP, but has the ability to drive the ball into the left center gap. Defensively, showed improved hands and footwork around the bag and uses a long arm action through a high ¾ slot, throws were pretty accurate with some carry. Ryan had some good at bats in game play while drawing a walk and a HBP.

6'4, 215-pound, RHH hits from an athletic and slightly open stance and uses an abbreviated leg kick and a smooth stride to get his lower half moving, smooth hand movement back and a little up completes his load. Lower half drives through the zone and helps provide him with good leverage and a strong base, actually over-rotates at times, hands stay loose and although he comes into the zone a little steeply he is able to flatted out his bath and drive through the ball with some lift, bat speed is very good and uses his size and strength to his advantage, stays mostly balanced. Defensively, showed average hands and footwork as he didn’t always put himself in the best possible fielding position, didn’t work through the ball great and took a little extra to gather himself for the throw, clean exchange and a long and loose arm action delivered some very accurate throws with good carry across the infield.
8/16/15 - The 6-foot-2, 195-pound righty has a nice strong, athletic build. Throwing from the high-¾ arm slot, Roland showed a good feel for his fastball as he established it for many first pitch strikes.Did a good job of using curveball as a set up pitch for his running fastball. His fastball sat at 70-72 mph. His curveball showed gradual 10/4 action and sat at 62mph. Changeup showed a sharp sinking action that sat at 67mph. Roland pitched one effective inning allowing no hits.
