6/13/17 - H-1B: 4.55, Position Velocity: 76, Exit Velocity: 85, Pop Time: 1.94-2.00
5’11, 175-pound, RHH was one of the most impressive players in the entire event. Webb showed the ability to contribute in all three phases of the game and the strength and athleticism to continue developing. He starts with a wide stance and uses a short and early stride that builds some slight rhythm leading into his swing. His hands drop into a slot and generate a slight uphill swing plane through contact, allowing him to drive the ball. Webb can get a little handsy, but shows gap-to-gap pop when he gets the barrel through it. Defensively, he is sharp and is one of the best receivers in the class. His footwork is good and his arm strength can be a separator. He has a little hitch in his arm action, but still produces sub 2.00 pop times, consistently. Webb finished 2-4 with a walk in game play.
6/13/17 - Max FB: 87, FB: 84-87, CB: 70-72,
5-foot-11, 175-pound, RHP is not only one of the top catchers in the 2019 class, but also brings a potentially dominant presence to the mound. Webb works smoothly and with good tempo, delivering pitches with confidence and intent. His arm action is quick but loose through a high ¾ slot and attacks the hitter. Fastball is heavy and bears down on right-handed hitters, while his curveball showed 12/6 shape with some sharpness to it. Webb earned a spot on the Future Games team.
1/29/17 - Home-1st: 4.71, Pop Time: 1.99-2.06, Position Velocity: C-78, Exit Velocity: 86
5-foot-11, 175-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and slightly open stance, uses an abbreviated leg kick and stride with a fluid movement back with his hands that stands the barrel up a little bit, lower half clears his hips with some aggression and creates a solid foundation and good separation, upper body stays quiet, gap-to-gap approach smoked a few toward dead center. Defensively, showed good hands with solid footwork behind the plate, showcased good arm strength and quickness with a sub-2.00 pop time but could get even lower by eliminating the hitch in his arm action. A solid prospect in the class with a lot of upside.
10/25/15 - The 5 foot 11,160-pound prospect posted a 7.43 60 time and had a 74 mph position velocity from behind the plate with a 2.03-2.12 pop times. Defensively Webb shows short arm action, has accuracy on throws, good arm strength for young prospect, has room for quicker release, soft hands receiving the ball, and footwork that stays online. Offensively Webb shows above average bat speed from the right side and had an 81 mph exit velocity off the tee. Webb hits from a balanced setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, shows good overall balance, confident approach at the plate, level path, fluid rhythm, and is a line drive type hitter. Webb went 1 for 4 during game play. Webb will be a class of 2019 prospect to keep an eye on.
On the mound, the 5-foot-11, 160-pound RHP has plenty of room to fill out his frame, throws from low ¾ slot with loose arm action that produces good arm-side run and sink on his fastball, fastball sat 79-80 mph and topping out at 82 on one occasion, consistently locates the fastball at the lower part of the zone, also showed a good change with sinking action at 69-70 mph. Webb did not show a curveball in his outing. He had one strikeout and gave up three hits in one inning pitched.
