RHP Mason Tidwell (Loretto, 2026) got a good look at Tidwell as he was on a magic number in terms of pitch count with district play coming into the picture early next week for the Mustangs and their staff. In his 3.1 innings of work on the mound during the game on Friday against a very talented Arlington lineup, Tidwell showed some intriguing stuff and was able to limit some damage early as a few Tigers found their way on. His fastball played at 87-88 mph for the most part in the early innings and even worked up to 91 mph, easy delivery from Tidwell as he shows the ability to repeat his mechanics very well. He also flashed a mid-70’s breaking ball with 11/5 shape that served as the primary offspeed pitch and had some late, tight break to it. A physical, proportional frame a 6-2, 195-pounds that is going to continue to develop and mature. Tidwell also serves as a top bat for the Mustangs and works up the middle at SS.

(2026, Loretto) another guy who is known for his abilities on the mound produced with the bat in Loretto’s win on Thursday night in Pulaski. Starting in the first inning, hitting out of the two hole for the Mustangs, Tidwell would jump all over an offering and lacing a sharp single into left, would later swipe second and come around to score. Helping ignite the offense early in the game and leading to a four run first inning. Tidwell would finish the night with a pair of knocks (2-for-3) and also reach on a walk. Shorter and compact swing from the right side, really solid bat-to-ball skills and is hitting .417 through four games to start his sophomore campaign. Leaner and athletic body at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds with plenty of athleticism, moves well defensively up the middle of the field and shows clean actions with the glove. Former Prep Baseball Junior Future Gamer back in the summer of 2022.
