6-foot-2, 200-pound two-way showed to be a physical specimen at Border Battle in October. Tall, athletic frame w/ ample strength in pro body. Got the start on the bump, working two quick innings, allowing no hits or runs w/ one walk. Worked off a heavy fastball at 85-87, supplemented w/ two above average secondary offerings. Showed feel for both 11/5 shape CB (68-69) and fading CH (73-75). Repeatable delivery while incorporating lower half w/ quick arm and more in the tank. At the dish, ball jumps off the bat w/ easy gap to gap power (88 Exit Velo). Quiet, balanced stance w/ simple load and good bat speed. Defensively, shown to be solid defender at the corner infield positions and corner outfield w/ above average speed (Home to First 4.49) and strong arm. Profile projects as an impact power bat/pitcher and serviceable defender at multiple positions w/ outstanding raw strength.
10/14/18 - Position Velocity: OF-86, IF-82, Exit Velocity: 87 6-foot-2, 195-pound, RHH showed super intriguing raw tools in a pro body. Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength throughout, super projectable. Has a chance to be a monster physically. Offensively, hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ bat resting on back shoulder into leg kick to slightly open and little hand load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone, whippy. Would benefit from some hand separation to get a better attack angle to the baseball. Flashes ability to land square, weight occasionally takes him to the third base side. Just missed some pitches on this day. Learning to take the same swing every time. Big power to all fields, learning to tap into it consistently. Defensively, stands out for his profile in RF, featuring projectable carry through target arm strength and athletic actions. At first base, moves well w/ projectable carry through target arm strength.
10/14/18 - Max FB: 82, FB: 77-81, CB: 63-66 6-foot-2, 195-pound, RHP showed a quick arm and a super projectable frame in his inning of work, but likely projects best as an OF. Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength throughout, super projectable. Has a chance to be a monster physically. Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ to OTT release from the first base side of the rubber. Super quick arm, learning how to get his physical lower half consistently involved. High effort throw. Learning how to keep his arm on time, occasionally rolled through his balance point, which caused his arm to lag behind. Straight FB showed occasional short arm-side run to his arm-side corner, occasional short cut to his glove-side corner. Medium downer CB was inconsistent on this day, was big at times, shorter w/ late bite at others. Sprayed the zone, tools to control.
