Transferred to Wallace-Dothan CC (AL) from Alabama.
6/23/15 - The 6 foot 1, 185-pound lefty has a tall athletic build. Does a great job at hiding the baseball in delivery, makes it difficult for hitters to pick up. Throwing from a ¾ to high-3/4 slot, fastball sat at 79-80mph, four seam fastball showed some hard cut action at times, two seamer flashes good arm-side run, curveball sat from 64-66mph with 1/7 break, has good feel for the curveball and consistently throws it for strikes. During game paly, Shemper had three strikeouts and only gave up one hit in two innings pitched. Good pitchability with a solid idea of how to attack hitters. As a position player, posted a 4.88 home to 1st time and had a 76 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively Shemper has soft hands, fluid footwork around the bag, average arm strength. Offensively Shemper shows some bat speed from the right side and had an 83 mph exit velocity off the tee. Shemper hits from a slightly open setup, has a short stride, good balance, uses his lower half, good approach, level swing path with a gap to gap approach. Shemper went 1-for-3 with a single in game play.
10-9-2018: Mississippi State commit. 6-foot-1, 200-pound left-handed pitcher. Deception in delivery, quick motion, high leg kick, limbs flying, finishes upright with a hop. Short arm action, quick arm speed. Fastball, sat 86-88, left little over the heart of the plate. Curveball, good feel for, 11/5 shape, some late action to, 73-74.
