6'0, 175-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and open stance and uses a leg lift and longer stride as a timing mechanism, lowers hands and stands the bat up in order to complete his load. Lower half fires but doesn’t quite get all the way through, stays tall on his backside and comes up on his front leg a little bit on contact, gets a little boxy with his upper half because of some flaring of his elbows, swing path is a little steep but he does a good job of getting through the ball at the end, a little late with his timing. Defensively, showed average footwork and hands as he fielded the ball a little deep and sometimes on his heels, used a clean but long transfer that resulted in a long arm action and average arm strength from a high ¾ release point.
6/14/16 - Max FB: 75, FB: 74-75, CB: 64-66,
6'0, 175-pound, RHP uses some good rhythm and showed consistency in the movements throughout his motion on the mound, takes a look down while making his rocker step and quickly looks back at his target to refocus, never quite gets his front side closed off during his leg lift and ends up avoiding a lot of use he could be getting from his lower half, long pre-release arm action surprisingly ends with more of a short and cut-off finish, hardly bends his back at all and falls slightly to the first base side of the rubber. Fastball stayed straight and was left up in the zone a few times, curveball showed some gradual movement but was typically hanging.
7/26/16 - Home-1st: 4.84, Position Velocity: 75, Exit Velocity: 83
6-foot-2, 155-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and open stance and uses an abbreviated leg kick and longer stride in sync with the pitcher’s timing as well as a lowering of his hands to get loaded, lower half drifts a touch and prevents his hips from getting all the way cleared at times, stays tall on his backside and comes up on his front leg a little bit on contact, bat path can be steep but showed the potential to produce a little lift. Defensively, showed average footwork and hands but did a much better job of playing through the baseball than we saw at the Top Prospect Games, same clean but long transfer that resulted in a long arm action and average arm strength from a high ¾ release point.
