6'2, 160-pound, RHH hits from a tall and open stance and uses a long stride and fluid hand load to get himself going. Lower half fires and upper half gets violent through the zone, upper body lean forward causes his swing to get steep and keeps him from staying behind the ball, Bat speed allows him to hit the ball hard. Defensively, uses sure hands and methodical footwork to field the ball and takes a clean exchange to his quick release to get the ball across the infield with good carry. At C, showed good hands with a quick release and good arm strength.
1/18/16 - 6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed hitter hits from a tall and fairly athletic stance, uses a pretty conventional stride and a rhythmic hand load to initiate his swing, takes hands back in load, hips fire well, can get through the ball, stay flat, and show some promising pop when keeping his upper body back, currently a line drive guy, up to 81 mph on his exit velocity off the tee. Showed good versatility by performing well at 3B and C, ran a 7.72 60-yard dash. Behind the plate, showed softer hands and good footwork, used a smooth exchange and a quick release to get rid of the ball and pop an accurate 2.01-2.09 at 75 mph. At 3B, showed rhythm and understanding of the position, soft hands and smooth footwork resulted in an accurate 79 mph throw across the infield from an over the top release.
On the mound, the righty uses a very tall delivery and over the top release to create a very prevalent downward angle on balls low in the zone where he sat 81-84, delivery was somewhat smooth and produced a long arm action that was hard to get a bead on, curveball was 62-65 with some occasionally strong 12/6 break, changeup around 72-73 stayed straight and was a little erratic. Lecomte dropped down to a sidearm delivery and kept most of the velo on his fastball at 79-81 with very good run, also threw slider from the side that would sweep across the zone with a little bit of late break. Could improve his follow through and finish, but has some potential, especially from the lower arm angle.
