5-foot-11, 174-pound, RHH shows bat speed w/ ability to stay at SS. Medium, athletic frame w/ lean strength. Strong for his size. Offensively, hits from a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Bat waggle. Leg kick w/ proper hand load. Rhythm hitter generates bat speed through the zone. Up the middle approach, shows potential to drive the ball gap to gap. Just missed a few balls in game. Above average runner underway. Defensively, shows soft hands w/ good feet. Better in game defender then showcase defender. Solid first step w/ range to both sides, arm strength to make play in the hole. Was tested in game, made all the plays look easy, converting 4 ground-balls into outs. Profiles as a true SS that projects to hit w/ gap power.
4/24/17: True SS w/ arm strength. Shows some barrel feel and some power for the position.
7/26/16 - Max FB: 81, FB: 77-81, CB: 63-65,
5-foot-11, 174-pound, RHP uses a few hitches in his delivery that create a motion that is hard to continuously time up, Hill takes a sudden pause both in the middle of his rocker step and near the peak of his leg lift that help him stay connected. He stays very much in line throughout his delivery and only falls toward the 1B side on occasion, his arm action is somewhat conventional until he shows a release point from almost straight over-the-top. Fastball was a little erratic and left up in the zone quite a bit, curveball showed the potential to be a really good pitch with 12/6 action down through the zone.
7/26/16 - Home-1st: 4.75, Position Velocity: 79, Exit Velocity: 84
5-foot-11, 174-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and even stance and uses a very abbreviated leg kick and a short stride to go along with a subtle movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half gets through but sometimes comes a little too far forward on top of his front leg, swing plane simple and flat through the zone and is helped by good movements from his back side that allow him to accomplish that, produced some hard line drives to left field in BP. Defensively, showed average hands and footwork as he tends to field the ball a little deep and on his heels, can get better at playing through the ball and allowing himself to use his athleticism, longer arm action comes through a high ¾ to over-the-top slot and produced above average arm strength across the infield.
