1/18/16 - 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitter hits from a balanced and slightly open stance, a fairly long stride and fluid load get him into a great position to fire his hips on every swing, swing path can get steep from time to time, displayed a line drive approach that could easily evolve into some power, given the strength and bat speed he showed both in BP and with his 90 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, displayed soft hands and moved athletically around his position at SS, smooth footwork and a consistently clean exchange led to some very accurate throws at 84 mph from his high-3/4 arm angle. Strong kid with enough athleticism to play anywhere on the field, given his 7.13 60-yard dash time, will be a great late pickup in the 2016 class for someone.

12/19/15 - The 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect posted a 4.38 home to first time and had an 81 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively, Ney shows short arm action, some accuracy on throws, good arm strength, soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange, and plays through the ball with athletic actions. Offensively, Ney shows good bat speed from the right side and had a 90 mph exit velocity off the tee. Ney hits from a balanced setup with a mid-length stride, uses his lower half well, has average overall balance, shows an aggressive approach and looks to attack the baseball, has gap to gap power potential at the next level.
