Uncommitted. Hoard showed some exciting tools at the plate during pool play. His simple, relaxed approach produces plenty of power and consistent barrels. He left the yard with a loud pullside homerun Saturday afternoon, flashing his power that he generates from his impressive hand speed and strong lower half. Hoard not only has some real pop, but he also has a great feel for the strike zone and is an on base machine. Hoard’s ability to generate high exit velocities without completely selling out makes him a consistent threat at the plate.

Cory Hoard, Franklin (TN), 2025 Positional Profile: SS/2B Body: 6-0, 198-pounds. Athletic frame with good current strength and room to fill out further. Hit: RHH. Begins shoulder width apart with bent knees. Hands begin above should before shifting down to a lower launch point as the lower half loads. Hands stay back resisting forward move before launching. Barrel has vertical path through the zone, mainly catching balls out front to the pullside. Keeping barrel in the zone longer will open up the whole field for the bat with good current strength and pop. 72.1 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 89.6 mph. 330' max distance. Arm: RH. INF-77 mph. Quick action and release with very accurate throws. Defense: Shows ease in getting to balls, with good footwork. ATH: 7.17 runner in the 60. 1.65 in the 10 yard split. 27.90 max vertical.
