6-foot-1, 160-pound, LHH hit from the same slightly open and balanced stance with that upright posture we’ve seen from him in the past, longer and smooth stride with a slight movement back of his hands combine to get him loaded, lower half fires through and attacks the ball but keeps him tall, swing plane can be a little steep into the zone but gets the barrel to and through the ball consistently, great round of BP with hard line drives toward the right-center gap. Defensively, showed sure hands and good footwork in the infield, uses his athleticism to his advantage at all times, plays through it well and uses an efficient exchange and a short arm action through a high ¾ slot. Runs well and continues to improve all areas of his game.
10/15/16 - Home-1st: 4.49, Position Velocity: IF - 76, Exit Velocity: 89
6-foot-1, 150-pound, LHH hits from a balanced and slightly open stance, uses the same longer stride and slight movement back with his hands that we saw at the East Tennessee Prospect Games to get loaded, lower half gets through and helps him to attack the ball but can pull his body forward some, bat path comes into the zone steeply but shows a little lift at the end, at his best when he stays up the middle and from gap-to-gap. Defensively, showed soft hands and pretty good footwork in the infield, played through the ball smoothly and used a short arm action through a high ¾ slot, throws had good accuracy with firm carry. Haire finished game play going 2-6 with 2 doubles and another very hard hit line drive to center field.
9/4/16 - Home-1st: 4.32, Position Velocity: IF-75, Exit Velocity: 86
6-foot-1, 150-pound, LHH hits from a balanced and slightly open stance, uses one of the longer strides you’ll see along with some smooth and subtle movement back with his hands, lower half fires and often times even over-rotates, attacks the ball way out in front from a steeper angle but is still able to flatten out and drive balls with pop to the RCF gap, hit some balls very hard in both BP and game action. Defensively, showed good hands and footwork as he played around and through the ball with confidence, athletic kid that will continue getting better, clean transfer and a short arm action through a ¾ slot produced very accurate throws with decent strength across the infield. Casey earned a spot on Tennessee’s Border Battle Team.
