5'11, 165-pound, LHP shows 3 pitch mix w/ easy del. Athletic build in medium frame w/ projection, some present strength. Pitches from a full wind-up w/ short rocker step into proper balance point. Hip drive, stays connected to the rubber long w/ proper landing. Easy to repeat w/ low effort. Straight FB flashes occasional arm side run. Medium downer CB flashes tightness w/ proper shape. Can come up out of hand and get loopy at times. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and occasional sink.
10/1/17 - 60 Time: 7.32, Position Velocity: OF - 72
5'11, 165-pound, LHH shows intriguing all-around OF package w/ barrel feel, arm strength. Athletic build in medium frame w/ projection, some present strength. Hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location and some bat waggle. Leg kick w/ hands dropping to belt and returning to proper load position. Rhythm hitter. Shows ability to use all fields w/ gap power. Defensively, moves well in OF w/ carry through target.
9/25/16 - 60 Time: 7.33, Position Velocity: OF-82, Exit Velocity: 79
5-foot-10, 155-pound, LHH hits from a balanced and mostly even stance, uses a smooth and timed stride that is a little different than the slight toe tap we have seen in the past and some minimal hand movement up and back to get loaded, lower half pulls him forward more than it gets his backside through and can cause him to drag his bat at times, bat path is steep into the zone, cut through some balls with backspin in his round of BP. Defensively, showed pretty good hands and footwork in making a consistent effort to play through the ball, stays under control and can seem methodical at times, chest high exchange leads to a fairly long arm action through a high ¾ release point.
9/25/16 - Max FB: 79, FB: 78-79, CB: 62-65, CH: 70-71,
5-foot-10, 155-pound, LHP was very much the same pitcher we have seen in recent events with a little more sharpness and confidence on the mound, uses a slower and controlled motion showed some explosiveness at release, hands go down and smoothly come back up with his leg lift that gets his front side well loaded, stays closed as long as possible and lands slightly closed, gets over front side fine and finishes slightly toward 3B, longer and pretty loose arm action comes through a ¾ arm slot. Fastball was mostly straight with some slight and occasional run, curveball showed very good 1/7 shape and changeup had sink through the zone.
6/15/16 - Max FB: 80, FB: 77-80, CB: 65-68, CH: 74,
6'0, 155-pound, LHP uses a very deliberate motion that includes a controlled rocker step and a high leg lift to begin, comes toward the plate from a very closed position and stays that way for a long time, eases back into line and lands only slightly closed, arm action starts out long and quickly comes up into a low ¾ slot to deliver his pitches, pretty loose arm with normal effort, falls slightly to the 3B side at times. Fastball showed a little bit of run and tried to sink while coming through the strike zone, curveball is a good pitch with 1/7 action that he can throw for strikes in almost any count, changeup fades slightly and is mainly used as a change of speed.
7/26/16 - Max FB: 79, FB: 77-79, CB: 62-65,
6-foot-0, 155-pound, LHP uses a controlled motion, stays closed for a long time when heading to the plate, lands slightly closed and causes himself to fall a little toward the 3B side, smooth and fairly low effort delivery looks very clean. Fairly long and loose arm action comes through a ¾ slot and remains very consistent. Fastball showed the same bit of run and potential sink we saw at the Top Prospect Games, curveball showed 1/7 action that he can throw for strikes or bury in the dirt, changeup fades through the zone.
7/26/16 - Home-1st: 4.51, Position Velocity: 83, Exit Velocity: 74
6-foot-0, 155-pound, LHH hits from a wide and balanced stance, uses a toe tap and short stride along with some very subtle hand movement to get loaded, legs work but his hips glide forward and cause him to drag his bat through the zone at times, bat path is fairly flat through the zone and produced some low line drives in BP, swing was more aggressive in game action. Defensively, showed good hands, does a good job of being aggressive getting behind the ball and then getting collected and working through it athletically, transfer is clean and is followed by a momentous crow hop, ¾ to high ¾ arm slot produced some decent arm strength on his throws. Burgett went 3-4 in game play with 3 singles.
