6-foot-1, 200-pound Cleveland St CC commit; Big projectable frame with present strength while roaming the OF. Profiles slots as a corner piece at the next level. Balanced, athletic stance with solid rhythm and strong finish. Simple load with moderate leg kick generating solid bat speed (T 68.1 mph) and above average rotational acceleration (T 22.1 G; Avg: 18.7 G). Heavy dose of liners and fly balls in his round of BP still showing flashes of power alley pop (T 91.6 exit velo). Still average to below average runner, but above average arm strength and looks like a solid bat-first pickup for the Cougars.
9/27/20
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound outfielder continued to round out his resume at Fall Uncommitted Upperclass Showcase. Large, proportional frame with present strength and some projection. At the dish, balanced wide stance with small leg kick and compact load. Generates excellent bat speed (Mid to upper 70s mph via Blast) and sequences well (14-20 G rotational acceleration) to drive balls into the power alleys (Max Exit Velo: 99.8 mph; Max Distance: 337 ft per Trackman). Heavy dose of hard line drives with pull side power in BP round. Defensively, projects as corner OF at the next level with solid footwork and below average speed (7.66 sixty time). The arm was down (81 mph) from his 87 mph OF velo in May, but the arm strength is there for RF. The offensive minded Harvey will look to lock down a commitment as he heads into his senior year at Oakland HS.
5/24/20
OF/C, (2021) Oakland, TN. 6-foot-1, 215-pound solid frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 92 mph, showing his strength and power ability. Started in a wide open stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick just before his swing. Bat speed is explosive, has level swing plane and high finish. Through his round he found some barrels. Line drive approach. In the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 87 mph; had smooth footwork and a clean exchange. Showed an-over-the-top slot and a quick arm action with consistent accuracy to the base.
