6’1, 205-pound catcher showed intriguing bat speed and pop times. Medium, physical frame w/ well-proportioned present strength throughout, close to mature build. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into stride to square and short hand load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone. Simple, repeatable swing, zero swing and miss in game. Hammers the baseball, drove a deep foul ball down the LF line in game, then followed that up with a clean single to LF. Also went deep to LF during his BP round. Intriguing power upside, present pull power w/ chance for all fields power. As a catcher, shows solid release w/ inconsistent footwork and projectable carry to target arm strength. On the mound, the righty pitched from a full wind-up into ¾ to H ¾ release. Quick arm, simple, repeatable delivery. Can get stronger with the glove side, current action can cause him to pull off. Straight FB shows occasional short cut, showed a willingness to throw from different slots. CB showed varying shape depending on the arm slot, was a true medium downer from a H ¾ release. Showed more of a slurve action w/ horizontal break when slot dropped to ¾. Slowed arm slightly at times. CH w/ short fade and sink. Around the zone w/ his 3-pitch mix, projects to command. Generated 4 swing and misses on 9 swings.
