6-foot-1, 175-pound, RHH hits from the same narrow and even stance we saw from him at the Knights PBR Day a few weeks prior, longer stride with a movement back of his hands got him loaded, lower half didn’t work quite as well as it has previously, struggled to clear his hips and came around the ball a lot, bat path is mostly flat and helps promote his line drive approach, best when he stayed to right center. Defensively, plays through the ball pretty aggressively with good hands and footwork, long arm action through an over-the-top slot produces pretty firm throws with accuracy. Recorded a single and an RBI in game play.
10/15/16 - Max FB: 86, FB: 82-86, CB: 71-75,
6-foot-1, 175-pound, RHP showed very much the same as he had a few weeks earlier, which was certainly a good thing, same small rocker step and control of his motion, seems a little stiff when lifting his leg and getting loaded at the top, separation and long arm action lead to a mostly over-the-top slot with some aggressiveness and intent, strides very slightly closed and stays tall in his typically balanced finish. Fastball stayed mostly straight but seemed heavy through the zone and his curveball had sharp 11/5 action with some swing-and-miss potential. Coulthard recorded 3 strike outs and allowed no runs in his 2 innings of work.
9/25/16 - 60 Time: 7.28, Position Velocity: OF-84, Exit Velocity: 88
6-foot-3, 170-pound, RHH hits from a narrow and even stance with tall posture, uses a long stride with an almost circular movement down and back with his hands to get loaded, lower half was initiated with his stride and usually did a good job of getting his backside through, bat path was flat through the zone but showed a little stiffness at times, showed ability to get the barrel to the ball. Defensively, he showed above average hands and good footwork in the outfield, gets behind the balls and times it with short choppy steps to play through it smoothly, an immediate and low exchange leads to firm throws from a long arm action through an over-the-top slot.
9/25/16 - Max FB: 85, FB: 83-85, CB: 69-70, CH: 75-77,
6-foot-3, 170-pound, RHP uses a small rocker step and controlled motion to get moving, hands stay together near his chest and still throughout his wind up and leg lift, gets a slight shoulder tilt and uses a quick separation with his hands to create a longer arm action through an over-the-top slot to deliver, doesn’t load up as much as he could but attacks the plate in line, finishes with some effort but stays mostly balanced on his finish. Fastball was mostly straight but was firm through the zone, curveball showed 11/5 shape and was thrown confidently, changeup had some sink. Coulthard earned himself a spot on Tennessee’s Border Battle Games team with his performance as a 2-way player.
