Physical Profile/Body - 6 foot frame, has leaned up some since our last look. Broad shoulders with moderate strength in the lower half.
Hit - Balanced stance. Hand set just off the back shoulder with the bat in a horizontal position. Loads the barrel upward and the hands back. Attacks downhill to contact with a longer hand path.
Power - 77 mph exit velo (tee). Seemed to be just an occurrence down from 86 & 84 at prior events. Muscles the barrel through the zone. Gap to gap approach with line drive contact.
Running/Speed - 4.14 30 yd dash.
Glove - Short choppy steps put him into a lower fielding position. Fields the ball out front with the feet square. Avg. footwork around the bag, will play himself into a solid defensive position.
Arm - 67 mph INF velo. Shorter arm action with a slight hitch on the backside.
Summary - Has begun to mature physically, gotten stronger in the upper body and slimmed down through the midsection since our last look. BP round was predominately up the middle and to the opposite field. Steep bat path lead to a ground ball heavy round. Will make the routine play at 1B. As he continues to develop physically his game should benefit.
5/25/19
6 footer that plays true to the listed 208lbs. Square shoulders and thicker through the mid section, young enough to hold some limited projection. Will need to mature physically to reach potential. Stance right at the shoulders with a quick toe-tap timing mechanism pushes the hands deep over the back side. Limited coil of the barrel at foot strike pushes the barrel through the zone with a flat path. Abbreviated hip rotation and limited ability to stay behind the baseball. Stretch exclusive on the mound, stabbing take away with abbreviated arm action on the backside. Worked slightly closed of his line to a H3Q arm slot w/ a 66-68 mph FB and mixed a 60-61 mph CB and 57-58 mph CH.
