Position: SS/RHP
Body: 5-foot-8, 140-pound lean frame. Medium proportional build.
Hit: Started in a slightly crouched stance with a big hand load, up and back. Used a toe tap stride. Low finish, flat swing. Transfers the weight into the front side, short hand path.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity, contact first approach. Used the whole field in BP.
Defense: Infield, Consistent hands, average footwork, developing exchange. Raw. Athletic enough to extend his range.
Arm: 78 Infield velocity. Long arm action, an-over-the-top slot. Pushing release. Decent accuracy present.
Speed: 6.89, quick start. Run tool is his best tool at present.
Summary: MIF shows flashes of potential with his athletic ability. Low line drive approach plays to the strengths. Rangy MIF with developing skills. Good runner, translates to the bases. High motor player, high energy throughout the day.
Young infielder with potential for future player development. Lengthy limbs and good hand size for his current frame (5-8, 135). Works from a balanced stance and low hand set at the plate. Early stride/load that gets the hands deep over the back foot and to a higher position off the back shoulder. Flatter attack angle produces hard ground balls and low line drives (68 mph exit velo). 7.19 - 60 will be worth following. Works aggressively to the ball as a middle infielder. Quick release and arm action that will improve carry to the bag as additional arm strength is added. As a pitcher worked from the stretch with a balance point around the belt. Clean take away, H3/4 slot, and abbreviated follow through. FB (68-71) showed some life when thrown to the arm-side. Had feel for a CH as a second pitch at 62 mph.
