Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed hitting outfielder who has made significant strides as a player. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 98 mph, a big jump for him. The set is even with his feet, and upright in stature. The path is simple and clean. The bat speed has increased immensely and the ball jumps off the barrel. Uses a 1-handed finish after contact. Ran a 7.19 sixty on the laser at the event. Threw 84 mph from the outfield out of an athletic approach to the ball. Good looking pro prospect for me.
Tee Exit Velocity- 98 mph
OF Velocity- 84 mph
8/5/16- Future Game Report
6-foot, 190-pound, strong physical frame. The hands and wrists are very strong, the back and shoulders are wide. Will fill out and be extremely physical. A left-handed hitter, who has good power from gap to gap. The stance is slightly open and slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands are held above the back shoulder, has a little wrap of the hands and barrel, with a higher back elbow. The swing has lift in it, with a high one handed finish. The tee exit velocity was 88 mph, a drop in his hands, might be able to get barrel out a little quicker. Collected a huge opposite field, bases clearing triple, had solid at bats, strike zone discipline is above average, ran a 7.42 60 yard dash. Defensively, the arm action is a little longer, clocked at 83 mph, showed good footwork and routes in outfield. On the mound, works out of a high ¾ slot, works downhill and pitches well to the glove side. The fastball was 78-80 mph. Showed a small slider at 73 mph, with a 73-74 mph changeup, has good arm speed. The delivery could be smoothed out a bit, has lots of moving parts. Projects for me as power hitting corner player.
2/15/16 Athletic left-handed hitting infielder/outfielder who also toed the bump at the workout. Threw 81 mph from the outfield with a clean arm swing and plenty of potential. Showed a great frame and good foot speed. Was solid with the glove and the footwork around the bag at first base. At the plate, he hit out of an open base setup and a pull approach. The bat path can be flattened but the raw potential is serious. Tee exit velocity of 80 mph. On the mound, he showed clean delivery with a slight forward lean to the plate. The arm works extremely well out of a ¾ slot. Fastball sat at 78 mph with arm-side run. The changeup was 70 mph and had a good plane to it. High profile 2019 two-way player.
