A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Athletic right-handed hitting middle infielder who shows above average tools in the middle of the field. The glove is playable and the prep steps are appropriate as well. Handles the pivot well and has plenty of arm strength to carry the position. Threw 82 mph across the infield with a simple path and quick release. Ran a 4.35 down the line on his dig. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 85 mph. The set up is a wide base and the hands are relaxed. Throws the barrel to the ball and stays flat through contact. Bottom half is under control and he squared up a bunch of baseballs on the day. Division 1 middle guy.
8/16/15 Veteran of PBR New England, the right-handed hitting shortstop showed well once again. Solid glove and prep steps at short. Threw 80 across the diamond and the frame will certainly allow him to gain strength as he matures. The path is short and allows him to handle the pivot. The footwork at the pivot need work be a little coaching could clean that up. The bat is simple and the path is good. Tripled to start the game off and shows a flat, direct path to the ball. All the balls he squares up are back spun. The tee exit velocity is 87 and he ran a 4.49 down the line from the right-side.
7/30/15 Had a nice workout at the futures, ran a 6.88 with some effort. Threw 84 across the diamond, showing solid range, a short arm path and good footwork around the bag. The defensive tools are there, and he can move around in the infield as well. The bat path is excellent, tee exit velocity of 90. Needs to handle his in game at bats better but his approach in batting practice and his prep work is solid. Chased some in the games but the plane is good and short to the ball. Division 1 prospect.
6/23/15 Right-handed hitting shortstop who has excellent hands and feel for defending. The arm is above average, 84 from shortstop. The path is simple and he handles the pivot well. Gets off the ball well and the frame will fill at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. The bat played nicely, open stance and a direct hand path to the ball. Squared the ball up very well in the game and ran the bases very well in game. Tee exit velocity of 86 and ran a 4.4 down the line. Front line defender for me with a chance to be a productive hitter as well. Big prospect for me.
