He starts in a balanced, athletic stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. He then uses a short stride to initiate a simple, flat swing with a good finish. During the rounds, Rice made a lot of solid contact, showed a quick bat and the ability to use the whole field. In the infield, Rice showed some arm strength with throws up to 85 mph across the diamond, while also showing he had sure hands, consistent, smooth footwork, and a clean exchange.
