Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
5-foot-11, 178-pound, super athletic frame, well proportioned, has plenty of room to fill out and put weight on. A right-handed hitting middle infielder who tracks it as well in the outfield. The top tool are his legs, ran the sixty yard dash in 6.69, can really move. At the plate, stance is balanced, feet are wider than shoulder width, slightly open. The hands are held higher than shoulder height. The swing is short to the baseball, keeps the hands inside, looks to drive the baseball to the right-center gap. Took a solid round of batting practice, the tee exit velocity was clocked 89 mph. Defensively, can play up the middle, moves extremely well to both sides, works from the ground up. The arm was clocked at 77 mph across the diamond, works out of a high ¾ slot. The pro move is made with ease, looks to be super athletic. In the outfield, arm was clocked at 81 mph, with carry and downhill flight. The instincts are good in outfield, can really go get it in the gaps. Projects for me at either position, with ability to run, outfield might be where he lands. Big follow, someone is going to get a good one.

PROCASE
5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Athletic young man who ran a 6.67 sixty on the laser. He moves extremely well, more to come with his foot speed. Threw 84 mph from the outfield with an athletic approach. Could play all 3 spots in the outfield at the next level. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 92 mph. Starts the swing with his feet even, and hands relaxed. Uses a small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. The hands are quick and he maneuvers the barrell well. The bat path can be flattened to help plate coverage as he develops. Very good prospect.

2017 Future Games
5-foot-11, 165-pound, super athletic athlete. The top tool are his legs ran an easy 6.66 sixty-yard dash, also clocked at 4.6 on a turn and 4.31 on a ground ball to short. Offensively, hits from the right side, stance is balanced throughout, feet are open to even, with them being slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands are held higher than shoulder height, back elbow extended outward. For timing has a controlled leg kick, gains ground with stride foot. The swing is down to level to up, stays through it well, and finishes the swing with two hands above shoulder height. In game swings and at bats were good, competed, battled, made solid contact, unfortunately had nothing to show for them. Defensively, can play all over the field, a primary shortstop at the moment probably projects more as an outfielder down the road, legs will take over. The hands are soft, fields out front, feet work well in transfer. The arm was clocked at 81 mph, has a longer path, opens it early, better suited for outfield. Good, solid, follow, being recruited by multiple schools.

5-foot-11, 165 pounds, wiry, strong, athletic frame. Plenty of room to fill out. Defensively, Mercedes showed quick feet and plus hands. Moved well laterally. Ran a 4.28 home-to-first. The arm action is short and clean on the backside. Showed carry across the diamond. Good pro move charging slow grounder. Rangey in the outfield, covering a fair amount of ground. Showed a good arm, clocked at 83 mph from the outfield and 79 mph in the infield. Has the tools to stick up the middle. At the plate, Mercedes is open to even while keeping his hands and elbow high. Advanced contact skills with the ability to hit to all fields. In game play, he collected a single and ran the bases hard. Overall, Mercedes is a promising middle of the diamond player with the potential to continue improving as he climbs the high school ladder.
