A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.

Physical: Projectable, workhorse frame (6-foot-3, 225lbs) with strength carried throughout the build. Recent Seton Hill University commit.
Pitcher: RHP - Able to hold consistent pace with a pause at the side-rocker before lifting to a balanced, high position and driving down the slope with good separation. Got slightly downhill from a ¾ release featuring some carry and natural arm-side run. Mixed an 81-84, T85 mph FB for strikes to both sides of the plate, adding a hard-biting 69-71 mph CB (up to 23 inches of HM) in advantage counts and a diving 78-80 mph power CH. Throws each pitch with good intent, not afraid to challenge hitters early in at-bats.
2/07/21
Physical: Imposing, durable 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame with advanced feel for his body on the bump; starting pitcher’s profile.
Pitching: RHP - Started off of the left side of the rubber with a pause at the side rocker, medium leg lift while getting to a balanced position at the belt loop, really strong move down a straight line towards the plate with confidence in the arm-action through a power, high ¾ slot; FB ranged from 85-88 mph with above-average ride (21.3 inches of IVB) with an eye-popping 7.23 feet of average extension. The heater jumps at hitters creating an uncomfortable at bat, mixed a sweeping 73 mph breaker with up to 10 inches of HM across the plate and a 50% zone rate. Countered with a quality 81-82 mph CH with present arm-side fade and consistent arm speed at release.
7/15/20
Physical: Large and strong 6-foot-1, 215-pound frame with advanced power in the lower half. 7.57 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Started from a tall, slightly open stance with minor bend into the backside, the hands began with rhythm above the head. Utilized a leg-hang stride with slight hip glide towards the front side upon footstrike initiating a flat barrel path into the hitting zone that at times got negative on the attack angle. The hands worked easy / fluidity through extension while creating occasional lift when contacting the ball at the front of the plate. Hit into a stiff and adjustable front side while doing damage on the pitch above the belt, held a relatively high posture throughout the swing. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 85 mph per Trackman Baseball / top batted ball distance of 241 feet with a middle/pull-side approach.
Defensively: The middle infielder featured a medium-high center of gravity with adequate footwork during defensive evaluations. Arrived to the ball on time with some range to the glove hand side, soft glove hand worked out in front smoothly, solid catch and throw skills from a low ¾ slot across the diamond, projects better at third base. INF - 79 mph
Pitching: RHP - Side rocker step with a deliberate medium leg lift at the top of the stack showing a slight pause, gets directional towards the plate with minor crossfire upon land, high ¾ slot from a full arm circle. FB appeared from 79-81 mph with an upwards of 2256 rpms of spin per Trackman Baseball and natural arm side run, mixed in a short and tight breaking 62-64 mph CB with 11/5 tilt and peak spin of 2123 rpms. A 69-72 mph CH kept hitters honest with near fastball arm speed / good sell.
7/23/19
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a narrow, square stance and utilizes a leg-lift stride to begin. Showcased rhythm to his swing and a feel for the barrel with a chance to develop some gap power moving forward. Registered a 75 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.72 60-yard dash. Defensive actions are best suited for a move to 3B in the future and current 76 mph arm strength across the diamond will play at that position. The righty showed promise on the mound sitting 77-80 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a repeatable, balanced delivery. Curveball shows 11/5 rotation with above average depth at 63-64. A slider at 62-64 has the same shape as the curveball and should be converted into a cutter with additional velocity to give separation between the fastball and curveball.
