Physical: Lean/lanky 6-foot-3, 167lb frame with plenty of projection on the bump.
Pitching: LHP - Started from the middle of the rubber with a short side rocker holding pace into a balanced stack position before getting over the front side, down the slope into the strike zone. Landed into a bent front side then stiffening out after releasing from a low ¾ slot producing arm-side run on the FB (75-77 mph, 13 inches HM). Mixed a hard-sweeping 61-63 mph SL with consistent shape across the plate and a 50% zone rate.
Offensively: LHH. Wide balanced base with the barrel resting on the shoulder. Hands go straight back during the load, with the barrel remaining in close contact with the shoulder. Hands attack the baseball in a free and easy manner. During the load, weight locks slightly onto the rear leg and transfers efficiently on the baseball. Hits into a firm front side. Simple, repeatable swing.
Defensively: Moves well around the bag at 1B. Works low to the ground and maintains a low chest angle. Fields the ball out in front and funnels to belt line. Shuffles into the throw and uses the legs effectively. Throws from a low 3/4 arm slot.
Pitching: LHP. Begins tall and in the center of the rubber. Deliberate controlled movements. Utilizes a rocker step and leg lift to chest. Glove begins at chest height and stays there up till glove break. At glove break the arm stabs down prior to working forward. Arm has some layback. Lead leg stays bent from the leg lift all the way to foot plant. Throws from a low 3/4 arm slot.
6/15/20
Physical: Long and lean, 6-foot-2, 145-pound frame, feel for his body and legitimate projectability. 7.16 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Pitching: LHP - Slow tempoed, with plenty of funk from a hitchy leg lift showing slight hip coil. Gets long out in front out of a high ¾ arm slot and creates uncomfortable at bats with long limbs moving all over the place towards the hitter. FB worked 72-75 T77 with present arm-side run while mixing in a 62-64 mph CH with average deception. Late breaking 60-62 mph SL demonstrated short, late break horizontally across the zone and created issues at the plate for the opposition.
2/29/20
Demonstrated feel for an uber projectable 6-foot-2, 145-pound frame with length in his actions. The primary left-handed pitcher sat 71-74 mph with present arm-side run out of a low ¾ arm-slot utilizing a windup with limbs going all over the place and hip swivel. Mixed in a 64-66 mph curveball showcasing 1/7 action and countered with a 63-65 mph changeup displaying arm-side fade while being thrown with quality sell. The left-handed hitter begins with a tall, even stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated a line drive approach during batting practice with feel for his hands. Recorded a 76 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 7.59 60-yard dash. The first baseman showed adequate feel around the bag with a moderately low center of gravity and length in his actions. A soft glove hand worked out in front yielding an accurate 72 mph arm-strength out of a high ¾ arm-slot.
