Physical: Starter’s build at 6-foot-2, 190lbs with durability present.
Pitching: One of the breakout performers of the event. Utilized a drop step with pace from the left side of the rubber into a high-leg lift (hip coil) before really getting over the front-side at release. Tough ¾ look out of the hand and featured an aggressive lower half turn timed up with footstrike. The FB jumped towards the plate at 88-89 mph with above-average extension (7.8 feet AVG), mixing a wipeout 72-74 mph SL out of the same window. Much improved 80-82 mph CH landed at a 60% clip on this date. Feel to spin and sets hitters up in game-action, having a big year for Selinsgrove this spring.
6/15/20
Physical: A long and projectable, 6-foot-2, 180 pound build.
Pitching: Sets up on the first base side of the rubber and uses an up-tempo, simple, and repeatable delivery. His stuff plays up due to his long stride and extends well out to the plate. Uses a moderate take back and a high ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: Sat in the mid 80s while peaking at 86. His fastball showed some arm side life through the zone and plays well when elevated.
Curveball: Struggled to consistently get on top of his breaking ball, showed 10-4 shape when executed correctly. Could use refinement.
Changeup: Shows some arm side fade with deceptive arm speed.
2/29/20
Physical: 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. Lean, projectable frame. 7.2 runner in the 60; 4.25 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Balanced stance with an even base, hands start low and out in front of his body, brings his hands back on load along with a medium stride for timing Compact swing, repeatable actions, swing works uphill after point of contact, good use of his lower half. 77 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Upright setup; uses pre-pitch prep step. Active feet; stays on the balls of his feet. Glove gets out in front; clean transfer with a low ¾ slot. Corner infield projection with possible corner OF at the next level. INF - 80 MPH. Pitching: Builds momentum with high leg lift, stays tall and strides across before pulling through release with intent. Short, quick arm action to a 3/4 slot. FB: T84, 82-84 MPH. Arm side run with ride through the zone. CB: 66-69 MPH. Sharp 11-5 shape with depth at times. CH: 73-73 MPH. Maintains hand speed with some fade.
