9/19/18 Rametta did not participate in showcase but did work three innings in game play on this day. The 6-foot 165 pound right-hander worked out of a mid 3/4 arm slot. Mechanically, stride foot lands excessively open and there is intermittent front knee softness during backside drive. Fastball sat 73-76 mph with arm side run. Curveball at 66-69 showed moderate depth and 11/5 shape. Change up at 68 mph was thrown at fastball arm speed showing subtle arm side fade. Rametta's command of three pitch mix proved effective in game play prior to tiring late in his outing.
7/24/18 Defensively, hands are adequate. There is intermittent tendency to work top down and allow ball to get deep. Rametta would benefit from keeping feet active in following throws. Arm strength of 67 mph was registered on throws across the diamond.
Offensively, 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from open set up with stride to neutral. Separation is adequate. There is reach with stride leg lending to an uphill swing path. Barrel feel allowed squaring of multiple balls during round of BP. A bat exit velocity of 82 mph was registered.
On the mound, right-hander works out of low to mid 3/4 arm slot. Shows ability to repeat moderate effort delivery. Fastball sat 71-74 mph and was reasonably commanded during game action while flashing intermittent arm side run. CB at 58-62 mph had 11-5 shape and rolling action. Changeup at 68-69 was thrown with good sell.
8/17/17 5-foot-11, 155-pound primary pitcher sat 73-75 with repeatable mechanics and a feel for throwing strikes. Curveball showed 11/5 rotation with more spin than break at this point in its development. Also displayed a 70 mph slider with slight cut and a changeup thrown at 67-69 with near fastball arm speed. The right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and replace stride. Starts from a high-elbow load and showcased strong wrists leading to a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Demonstrated raw actions defensively with developing 69 mph arm strength across the diamond.
